Bakeries in Melbourne
In my short Melbourne trip, I visited two bakeries.
Bakemono
🥐 Almond & Yuzu croissant ($7)
🥐 Ham & Cheese croissant ($7)
🥐 Chocolate croissant ($5.5)
I’d heard good things about Bakemono from friends and family. We arrived just as they opened and had to wait about 10 minutes. The croissants were so fresh and flaky.
I had the almond & yuzu. This yuzu-almond jam filled croissant created a lovely citrus twist compared to a regular almond croissant. Although it was messy, I loved the generous topping of almonds which made the crunch so satisfying.
Now, I just wish this was in Sydney because one visit wasn’t enough!
Agathe Patisserie
🥐 Classic croissant ($5.5)
💚 Pandan flan ($8)
🍫 Chocolate almond croissant ($8)
I’ve personally never seen a chocolate almond croissant before. I’be been missing out because those are my top two croissant orders. Imagine flaky pastry filled with chocolate and sprinkled with crunchy almond flakes.
I enjoyed the pandan flan, I always love Asian flavours. It wasn’t too sweet and such a good balance of textures.
The croissant was really lovely, the flaky layers were so butter and soft on the inside.
